Arrival by public transport

Lugano’s main station (Lugano Stazione FFS) is a key railway hub in the Italian-speaking part of Switzerland. There are hourly trains for Berne, Neuchâtel, Fribourg, Sion, Bienne and Basel.

From Lugano station, the Palazzo dei Congressi can be reached:

• By taxi in about 5 minutes
• By bus: several local buses (e.g., line 2 in direction Castagnola, Capolinea or line 3 in direction Canobbio, Mercato Resega) stop at or near the Congress Centre, with a travel time of around 10 minutes
• On foot: a downhill walk of approximately 15-20 minutes

Arrival by car

Lugano is directly accessible via the A2 motorway, which runs from Basel through Lucerne and the Gotthard tunnel to Chiasso and the Italian border. From the Lugano Nord or Lugano Sud motorway exits, follow signs towards the city centre and then the Palazzo dei Congressi.

The Congress Centre is located near the lakefront in the city centre. There are multiple parking options in the area, including the Autosilo Balestra public car park (approx. 440 parking spaces), which is within a short walking distance from the venue.

Please note that traffic in central Lugano can be heavy, especially during peak hours, so plan your journey accordingly.
